To all VFAA members: You can submit up to three pieces at no charge. For non-members, the fee is $20 per piece, or you can opt to become a member for $100. Youth entries incur no cost for current members, while non-members are subject to a $5 entry fee per piece. The VFAA will retain a 25% commission on each piece sold, and works may be marked as NFS (Not For Sale). All submitted artwork must be your original creation in its initial form; please refrain from submitting giclees or other types of prints. The VFAA/SHAC reserves the right to photograph and use submitted artwork for social media or print marketing purposes, regardless of copyright ownership.
Pan 2024
Welcome to Pan 2024, our annual art exhibition that seamlessly intertwines poetry and artistry. As the name suggests, Pan invites artists to submit pieces accompanied by the poems that inspired them, creating a rich tapestry of creativity and expression. This juried show provides a platform for artists to showcase their interpretations of verse through various mediums, fostering a deeper connection between language and visual art. With submissions due by March 15th, we eagerly anticipate the diverse array of submissions that will grace our gallery walls, each one a testament to the boundless inspiration found in the marriage of poetry and art. Join us as we embark on this poetic journey, celebrating the power of artistic collaboration and interpretation at Pan 2024.
In Bloom
Welcome to "In Bloom," our enchanting art show presented in collaboration with the Milford Garden Club. Embracing the beauty of nature's bounty, this exhibition invites artists to explore the theme of blossoming flora and verdant landscapes. As part of the festivities, artists are invited to participate in a paint out on June 21st and 22nd, where they can immerse themselves in the lush gardens of our community, capturing the vibrant colors and delicate textures of blooming flowers firsthand. Alternatively, artists may choose to submit pieces that evoke the spirit of "In Bloom" in their own unique interpretation. Whether capturing the essence of a sun-dappled garden or showcasing the intricate details of a single blossom, "In Bloom" promises to be a celebration of the boundless beauty found within nature's ever-changing canvas.
Milford Memories Raffle
As part of the Milford Memories festival, we're thrilled to showcase a stunning array of artwork generously donated by local artists. Each piece serves as a testament to the talent and vibrancy of our creative community. Festival-goers have the opportunity to purchase tickets and participate in the raffle, dropping their tickets into a bag for the chance to win their favorite artwork. With each ticket drawn, a lucky winner gets to take home a piece of art to treasure. Not only does this event add to the excitement of the festival, but it also serves as a vital fundraiser for both the SHAC and VFAA, supporting their mission to promote and nurture the arts in our community.
The Wild Side

Adding to the excitement, our show coincides with local events such as Dog Day Afternoon and the Pup Crawl, ensuring a lively atmosphere and plenty of opportunities for animal-themed fun. Fresh! Plein Air Milford
Fresh Plein Air Milford 2024, a dynamic exhibition that captures the beauty and vibrancy of our town through the eyes of talented artists. Hosted by the Village Fine Arts Association, this event invites participants to immerse themselves in the picturesque landscapes and charming streets of Milford during a weekend paint out. Armed with canvases or paper stamped at The SHAC, artists venture into various areas of the town, capturing the essence of their surroundings en plein air. The resulting artworks are then proudly displayed for the duration of the show, showcasing the diversity and creativity of our local artistic community. With winners selected and prizes awarded, including the honor of having their pieces displayed at the local library for six weeks following the show, Fresh Plein Air Milford 2024 promises to be a celebration of artistic talent and the beauty of our town.
