The presentation portion typically starts at about 8 pm.

Agenda:

  • Networking and informal sharing of recent art work by members
  • General information updates
  • Snack break - volunteers contribute snacks.
  • Artist of the year - Members of all skill levels and mediums are invited to bring up to 3 pieces -  not required to be framed.
  • Guest speaker of the month shares experiences and art and are also invited to informally judge the evening's  'Artist of the Year' entries, providing valuable feedback and points.

This activity is supported in part by an award from the MICHIGAN COUNCIL FOR ARTS AND CULTURAL AFFAIRS and the NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS.

Visit the SHAC for more information.

Members are encouraged to bring up to two finished pieces to the Monthly Membership Meeting. Our Guest Speakers become jurors and select their favorites. Points are awarded for first, second and third place. At the end of the year, awards are presented to the top three point-earners.  Points are also awarded for merely bringing in your art to share!

Several themed art shows take place during the year, through the holiday season and during the local Milford Memories event in August. Entry is often at no cost. Exhibits are as inclusive as possible and sales commissions are reasonable.  All profits support the VFAA and SHAC activities.

Specially featured is Poetry and Art Night - a unique show featuring the integration of art pieces with poetry. PAN takes place in March or April each year.

Subscribe to email news to find out about upcoming art shows or visit the SHAC.
